Dr. Kerim Erdem Ulucay, MD, FACS, FICS, is a highly experienced General and Laparoscopic Surgeon with more than 20 years of surgical experience, including over 13 years of practice in the United Arab Emirates. He specializes in minimally invasive surgery, gastrointestinal endoscopy, laser proctology, and bariatric endoscopic procedures. He is recognized for delivering advanced surgical care with a strong focus on patient safety, precision, and excellent clinical outcomes.
Dr. Ulucay earned his medical degree and completed his General Surgery residency in Türkiye. He holds both DHA and DOH Specialist licenses and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons (FICS). He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Healthcare Management, reflecting his commitment to clinical excellence and healthcare leadership.
Dr. Ulucay has extensive expertise in laparoscopic surgery, including laparoscopic gallbladder removal (cholecystectomy), inguinal, ventral, and incisional hernia repair, appendectomy, and diagnostic laparoscopy. He is also highly experienced in upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, intragastric balloon insertion and removal, and the minimally invasive laser treatment of hemorrhoids, anal fistulas, anal fissures, and pilonidal sinus disease.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Ulucay is actively involved in surgical research and academic publishing. He has authored multiple systematic reviews in minimally invasive and gastrointestinal surgery and serves as a peer reviewer for international surgical journals. His professional interests include evidence-based surgery, innovation in minimally invasive techniques, quality improvement, and patient-centered care.
